COLOMBO DOCKYARD AT INMEX SMM INDIA 2025 IN MUMBAI:
“HOME AWAY FROM HOME” FOR INDIAN VESSELS

Colombo Dockyard PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier shipbuilding and ship repair facility, once again made its presence felt at the prestigious “INMEX-SMM-2025” shipping exhibition held in Mumbai, India. The shipyard’s participation in this key event reaffirmed its strong focus on strengthening partnerships within the Indian maritime sector and promoting Colombo as a trusted hub for ship repair and construction services.

With over five decades of experience in the global maritime arena, Colombo Dockyard has consistently taken part in renowned exhibitions such as Posidonia in Greece, Nor-shipping in Oslo, Sea Asia in Singapore, and SMM in Germany. Continuing this tradition, its presence at the INMEX-SMM 2025 edition marked another important step in reinforcing Colombo Dockyard’s reputation as a competitive service provider in South Asia and beyond.

Strategically located just across the Indian subcontinent, Colombo Dockyard is widely recognized by Indian shipowners as a reliable “Home away from Home” for their fleet. This year’s INMEX-SMM theme, once again highlighting Colombo’s role as a service destination for Indian vessels, resonated strongly with the shipping community. The participation helped to emphasize the importance of Colombo Dockyard’s proximity, efficiency, and readiness to deliver world-class services to the Indian market.

The exhibition brought together leading stakeholders from across the maritime spectrum, including shipowners, managers, classification societies, equipment suppliers, and brokers. Colombo Dockyard highlighted its Rapid Response Afloat Repair Services, Rope Access Repairs, Riding Crew Repairs, and its specialized expertise in constructing Cable Layer Vessels, Offshore Support Vessels, Passenger Vessels, and Eco Bulk Carriers. The shipyard also showcased its ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, positioning itself as a versatile solution provider for both repair and newbuilding projects.
